Sound Experiments | April 19, 2024

Another week, another update in your inbox 😊 How has your week been?

This Week's Highlight

Last week, I asked for help choosing what to make next and you guys delivered! A good number of you suggested tutorials around sound visualization and polyrhythms, so I gave it a try.

It was my first time experimenting with sound using p5.js and I AM HOOKED! It was so much fun and really opens up a whole lot of new possibilities for me.

If you haven't seen them, I made two tutorials that experiment with shapes and movement to create interesting sound. I plan to make a series out of it so if you have suggestions, be sure to let me know!

What Inspires Me

Podcast: How I Built This - CrunchLabs: Mark Rober

I have been a long-time listener of this show and Mark Rober is one of my role models in the STEM / STEAM education space. He has a knack for combining science with interesting ideas, getting people excited on subjects that are usually deemed "difficult" by making them approachable and fun. He is also a fellow mechanical engineer, so that is plus 😉

It is a fun listen and Guy Raz is a great interviewer.

What Should I Make Next?

It was a success last week so why don't we keep it going. For those whose theme wasn't chosen, don't worry! I'll be sure to get around to them soon.

Help me decide what theme to do next!

Until next week!
