Giving Season 🎁 | December 17, 2024

This Week's Highlight

You’ve probably heard of the term 'butterfly effect.' I certainly had, but it wasn’t until this week that I discovered its origins in meteorology!

It comes from Edward Lorenz's groundbreaking work in chaos theory, showing how tiny changes—like a butterfly flapping its wings—can lead to drastically different weather outcomes. In this tutorial, I show you how to visualize the Lorenz attractor, a 3D model of chaos that beautifully illustrates this effect!

Giving Season

The Processing Foundation, the non-profit organization behind Processing, p5.js, and the p5.js Editor, is currently running its annual fundraising campaign, and I want to give them a huge shoutout!

The coding tutorials you’ve enjoyed on my channel wouldn’t be possible without the incredible work of this community. Their dedication has provided us with an amazing platform for creative coding, and now it’s our turn to give back. I encourage you to visit their fundraising page and support in any way you can. Every donation goes 100% towards the development and maintenance of this essential software. Let’s help them continue building and improving the tools we love!

New Year, New Challenge

A few weeks ago, I mentioned Genuary, a month-long generative art challenge that takes place every January. If you’re looking for a fun and inspiring way to spark your creativity, this is the perfect chance to dive into generative art!

The 31 prompts for this year have just been released, so why not take a look and see if you’re up for the challenge? It’s a great way to experiment, learn, and maybe even surprise yourself with what you create!

Until next week!
